Steve has spent more than 35 years in the advertising and marketing communications business, as a writer of print, radio and TV advertising, collateral materials, public relations materials, speeches and video; he has also supervised broadcast production.
His extensive experience in consumer and business-to-business markets includes work in the basic metals/steel industry, electrical products and services, chemical, medical and banking industries. At various times, he has created communications materials for Smith & Nephew Medical Products and a variety of hospitals, including St. Margaret's, DT Watson Rehab Center, Forbes, Canonsburg Hospital, Magee and UPMC in Pittsburgh, and Grant/Riverside in Columbus, Ohio. He has also done work for U. S. Steel, National Steel, Westinghouse Electric, Russellstoll, DQE and Chromalox; U.S. Steel Chemical Division (Sonoco Chemicals), Koppers and Neville Chemical; Century National Bank, US Bancorp, Southwest Bank and Wheeling Bank; Chevron Oil, Armstrong Cork, Pittsburgh Brewing, Thrift Drug and Hoover Vacuums.
He has received a variety of industry awards for both readership and creative excellence.
Steve is a 1967 graduate of Washington & Jefferson College. He holds a BA with a major in Psychology, and minors in Economics and English Literature. He is an aviation enthusiast and an avid fly fisherman, and spends his spare time reading extensively about both.
